Regular
Submissions should be sent to the editor you think is most likely to appreciate them. A paragraph with each editor's preferences, links to published work, and contact details is available on the Associates page. Here are the rules: you may submit up to one piece to up to one editor at a given time. If one editor rejects your work, you may submit it to another editor (we operate independently of each other.) If it is found that you have submitted one piece to more than one editor at a given time, or have submitted two pieces to two editors at a given time, your chances of publishing here are so greatly reduced that you may as well give up (failure to comply with these rules is a sign of a true asshole).
Associates Dawn Corrigan and Jon Thrower seem to be most interested in poetry around these parts.
Editors may from time to time operate their own contests. The rules and specifications of such contests are up to the editor(s) running them. However, certain contests may violate an agreement editors have made with GwI, and if you believe this is the case, feel free to rat them out by e-mailing admin@girlswithinsurance.com immediately.
Letters
Letters of note, love, to the editor, or otherwise notable communiques may be addressed to any associate. Like our columns, it's important to note that the public can comment on your letter.
Columns
Currently we've got two regular columns. The column section is one of the few on which we allow public commentary. A good column is between 500 and 1000 words and has the rhythm of repetition only the most precise writer can muster. Associate P. H. Madore is probably you're best bet for a column pitch, but feel free to try someone else.
Relics
If you were published in GwI back in the day, please feel free to prove it and get in touch with any one of the editors. We'll republish your piece as soon as we can manage. (Promise!) Do dutifully note that a Gmail archived message from 2004, 2005, or 2006 is as proving as is a link to archive.org. Just let us know and we'll communicate on the issue and come up with something.
