Jon Thrower (jthrower@girlswithinsurance.com) has published poetry, criticism, reviews, and pedagogical work in various print and web venues including Blaze Vox, Knock, Storysouth, and Atropos Press. He wants work that addresses the person in the political, cultural, and social area and their reactions to a world which is operating for, against, and in spite of them; poetry that exhales a surrealist breath on the windows of reality; figurative expressions crossing the line into reality and the similar slippage in reverse; success and failure as metaphorical and metaphysical experience; the joy, and the sadness, of epiphany. Listen to his interview.
Tommy Dean graduated from Valparaiso University with a double major in Creative Writing and Criminology. He has been published in Pens on Fire and Tuesday Shorts. His aesthetic tastes stay close to realistic, literary writing focused on three dimensional believable characters struggling with understanding the world around them. Some of my favorites are Raymond Carver, Charles Baxter, André Dubus, and Dan Chaon. Read his interview. Submit to tdean@girlswithinsurance.com.
Dawn Corrigan has published poems, short fiction, short plays, humor pieces, nonfiction and miscellany in a number of print and online journals. She's interested in writing that adores language while still demonstrating concern for how people live. She likes writing that startles, as well as good dialogue and forms that rely on it, such as the 10-minute play. She particularly would like to see flash fiction that attempts something other than the traditional emotional arc. Inquire of and submit to Dawn via dcorrigan@girlswithinsurance.com.
